What are you seeking/what is seeking you?

Many things in our everyday lives distract and pull at us. Every moment has a choice. Everything we participate in and everything that we allow to capture our imagination is our choice.

A series of choices = our priority.

A collection of priorities = the verse we contribute to world.

To quote Walt Whitman

O Me! O Life!

Oh me! Oh life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless trains of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the struggle ever renew’d,
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?

Answer.
That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

I read My Utmost for His Highest, almost daily. This week has had a simple thought:

There are many things to focus on, yet the ultimate and only focus is God. If we turn our focus there, we will be useful in just the exact way we should and could be.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
-Matthew 6:33

Strength and courage,

Kevin
